Found in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, at elevations of sea level to 850 meters in open forest with open heathy under-story mainly in granite-based loamy soil as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 10" [25 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence with short-lived, self-pollinating flowers.
