Common Name or Meaning The Three Pointed Calanthe - in China Lie Ju Xia Ji Lan

Found in southwestern Yunnan province of China and Myanmar in broad-leaved forests at elevations around 1700 meters as a large sized, cool growing terrestrial with short, subconic pseudobulbs enveloped by 2 to 3 sheaths and carrying 3, basal, well developed and pspreading at antithesis, not deciduous, elliptic, papery, 5 veined, acuminate, pseudopetiolate base leaves that blooms in the later winter on an axillary, densely puberulent towards the apex, rachis 12" [30 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence with persistent, lanceolate, acute, , much shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
