Found in New Zealand on the north Island in montane to subalpine pine and native forests as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a pubescent stem carrying a single, decumbent, long and very thin, usually covered in hairs leaf that blooms in the later spring on an erect 4 to 8" [10 to 20 cm] long, one to rarely 2 flowered inflorescence
