Found in New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Fiji in montane forests on tall trees at elevations around 400 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a shorter stem carrying ligulate, oblique, acute, coriaceous leaves that blooms in the summer on an axillary, 10 to 12" [25 to 30 cm] long, paniculate, laxly many flowered inflorescence
