Found in Brazil and northeastern Argentina at elevations around 70 meters as a medium sized, warm growing, leafy epiphyte with a cylindrical, erect stem carrying distichous, coriaceous, flat, ligulate, bilobed apically, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an opposite the leaves, very short, densely many flowered inflorescence
