Found in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica at elevations of 900 to 1500 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with roots that are about 12" [30 cm] long, and a monopodial, short, slightly fractiflex stem enveloped by clasping, leaf bearing sheaths each carrying a coriaceous, distichous, obliquely bilobed apically and gradually narrowing below and articulate to the clasping sheaths that blooms in the spring and summer on several axillary, arising from the leaf axils below the roots, 1 to 1.2" [2.5 to 3 cm] long, many flowered, racemose inflorescence with sometimes several arising from the same location.
