Common Name The Gnome-Like Catasetum

This species is a medium sized, hot to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte from Amazonas state in Brazil and Peru growing on lowland trees near watercourses in wet montane forests at elevations of 200 to 1200 meters that has ovoid, ridged pseudobulbs carrying 4 to 5, elliptic-obovate, petiolate, abruptly acuminate leaves that blooms in the spring through fall on an arching or loosely erect, to 16" [40 cm] long, loosely multi-flowered [4 to 12], racemose inflorescence with broadly ovate floral bracts and carrying fragrant wintergreen scented, non-resupinate flowers that arise on a newly mature pseudobulb and has three different sexes visible in it's flowers, male, female, and hermaphrodite.
