Common Name The Ariquemes Catasetum [A town in Rondônia Brazil]

Found in Rondônia state of Brazil in rainforests at elevations of 100 to 300 meters as a small to medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with fusiform, often slightly curved, very furrowed with age pseuduobulbs enveloped completely by imbricate leafless and leaf bearing above sheaths and carrying oblanceolate, wavy edged, plicate leaves that blooms in the fall on a male, almost horizontal then pendant, 7" [18 cm] long, to 20 flowered, racemose inflorescence. The female inflorescence is 2 1/2" [6 cm] long, erect and 4 to 6 flowered.
There is the posssiblity that this species is actually a natural hybrid between C rondonense and C parguazense.
