Common Name The Scooped Catasetum
Flower Size 2" [5 cm]
Found in southeastern Brazil in the coastal Atlantic forest as a medium sized, warm to hot growing epiphyte found in large trees with fusiform pseudobulbs carrying oblong-ligulate, plicate leaves that blooms in the spring through fall on a basal, to 12" [30 cm] long, arching to pendant, many [to 20+] flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.
CAUTION Kew has this species as a synonym of C socco and they are quite similar with this one having much broader sepals and petals
