Catasetum blepharochilum Schltr. 1920 SUBGENUS Catasetum SECTION Catasetum Drawing by © Hoewhne
Photo?????? See below Photo by © Gunter Gerlach and His Stanhopinae Website
Common Name The Hairy Fringed Lip Catasetum
Flower Size
Found in Colombia with pseudobulbs carrying erect, elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, plicate, gradually narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms on an erect, terete, 10" [25 cm] long, laxly 6 to 8 flowered inflorescence with patent, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
CAUTION!!!!! The species in the photograph was found in Fr Guiana from which I can find no records of it's being from there, as all sources say endemic to Colombia and the only drawing has a fringed lip apex which this one does not, so please use with caution. The Drawing by Hoehne is much more correct.
