Common Name The Ribbed Catasetum
Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]
Found in the Amazonas state of Venezuela and Brazil at elevations of 1000 to 1300 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with fusiform, lightly compressed pseudobulbs carrying dark green, lightly plicate, rather stiff, carinate, broadly lanceolate leaves that blooms on a lateral, basal, horizontally arching peduncle, terete, rachis subpendent, pinkish green, 10" [25 cm] long overall, 10 to 15 flowered inflorescence
Similar in most all respects and many consider it conspecific to C macrocarpum but differs mostly in the divaricate anntenae
