Found in Peru in wet montane forests as a medium szied epiphyte with spindle shaped pseudobulbs enveloped by imbricating leafless below and leafbearing above sheaths and carrying 4 to 5, plicate, elliptic-oblanceolate, acuminate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an arching-horizontal, 10" [25 cm] long, 7 to 10 flowered inflorescence carrying resupinate flowers
