Common Name Franchini's Catasetum

Found in Goias state of Brazil in savannahs at elevations of 200 to 600 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with clustered, fusiform pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by several deciduous sheaths and carrying 7, arched, plicate, oblanceolate, narrowing below into the pseudopetiolate base leaves that blooms in the late summer and fall on 1 to 2, basal, male, arched, racemose, 12" [30 cm] long, to 18 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate stem-clasping bracts.
