Found in Bolivia in subtropical forests without elevational data as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with fusiform pseudobulbs enveloped completely by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying distichous, plicate, articulate, elliptic leaves that blooms in the later summer to early fall on a basal, arched, racemose, green, basally becoming purple towards the apex, to 8" [to 20 cm] long, few to several flowered inflorescence.
