Found in Minas Gerais and Rio de Janiero states of Brazil as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with close set, fusiform to oblong-fusiform, slightly compressed, often slightly curved pseudobulbs carrying 6, plicate, 3 nerved, linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on an ascending, shorter than the leaves, to 8" [20 cm] long, to 9 flowered inflorescence.
