Common Name The Spear Carrying Catasetum [refers to the male lip apex]
Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]
Found in Amazonas state of Brazil at elevations around 80 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with clustered, fusiform, elongate pseudobulbs carrying to 13, oblong-lanceolate, attenuate below into the pseudopetiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on a male, arching, to 30" [75 cm] long, wioth amplexicaul, lanceoalte bracts, to 30 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate floral bracts and carrying resupinate flowers.
Female inflorescence are erect, to 6.4" [16 cm] long, to 7 flowered inflorescence
