Common Name The Rio Monzon Catasetum [A river in Huanuco department of Peru]

Found in Peru in wet montane forests at elevations around 700 to 900 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with oblong-ovoid to fusiform, several noded, sulcate and rugose with age pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 5, elliptic, plicate, acute, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a male, basal, erect, peduncle to 4" [10 cm] long, 12" [30 cm] long overall, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate,acuminate, much shorter thanthe ovary floral bracts and carrying 12 to 18 flowers.
