Common Name The Cleft Into Many Parts Catasetum [refers to the unusually long appendages of the lip]

Found in Rondônia state of Brazil and Peru on palms at elevations of 100 to 300 meters as a small to medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with fusiform to ellipic, clustered pseudobulbs enveloped completely by imbricate, leafless and higher up leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying to 8, oblanceolate, plicate leaves that blooms in the fall on a male, arching to pendant, 22" [55 cm] long, to 12 flowered infloresence
