Found in Peru in wet tropical forests at elevations of 280 to 500 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with clustered, conical to fusiform, ridged, noded pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by imbricate sheaths and carrying plicate, eliptical, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the basally clasping leaves that blooms in the winter through summer on a basal, stout, 5" [15 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.
