Found in Ecuador at elevations around 2800 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with narrowly ovate, laterally compressed, roundly ancipitous pseudobulbs partially enveloped basally by opposite, leafless and leaf bearing, conduplicate sheaths and carrying a single apical, erect, lanceolate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaf that blooms on an axillary, erect, racemose, peduncle is much longer than the rachis, 14 to 16" [35 to 40 cm] long, overall, 4 to 7 flowered inflorescence arising on a partially developed growth and carrying scentless to faintly fragrant flowers.
