Found in southeastern China, Korea, central and southerm Japan as well as eastern greater Russia in montane, mixed pine and broadleafed forests as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial species with several alternate, lanceolate, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the late spring on an erect, 4 to 6" long, 1 to few flowered, racemose inflorescence
