Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1100 to 1300 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to thin, glabrous, subfiliform, terete pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, shortly erect, glabrous, subulate, slightly sulcate above, terete, acute leaf that blooms in the later fall on an apical, fasciculate, few flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are muddy reddish with white petals and the lip being golden yellow towards the apex.
