Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to thin, filiform pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, glabrous, furrowed, subulate, acute leaf that blooms in the fall on an apical, fasciculate, several flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are a muddy reddish color with a golden yellow fronted lip
