Found in New Guinea at elevations around 300 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to thin, terete pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, glabrous, short, subulate, slightly sulcate above, slightly incurved, acute leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an apical, fasciculate, few flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are muddy red with the lip being yellow towards the apex.
