Found in Norway, Sweden, Finland, France, Germany, Czeckloslovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Yugoslavia, Romania and Poland in alpine meadows at elevations of 2000 to 2700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with small ovoid tubers from which arise 5 to 8, basal, narrowly linear leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a terminal, erect, 5" long, several to many [8 to 15] flowered inflorescence.
