Full shade Fall

Common Name The Gabon Chamaeangis

Flower Size

Found in Cameroon and Gabon as a medium sized epiphyte with robust short stems carrying numerous, close set, long, narrow, linear to narrowly lanceolate linear, fleshy, upcurved margined leaves that blooms in the fall on groups of 2 to 3, pendent, arising from below the leaves, 5.6 to 10" [14 to 25 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence .

"This is a typical member of the genus and evidently allied to C. vesicata with which it shares the rather narrow acute fleshy leaves and flowers in twos or threes at each node of the inflorescence. The leaves are however, narrower even than in C vesicata and seem to be more fleshy. The edges are incurved so as to produce a concave upper surface. The labellum is oblong with an obtuse, almost 3 lobed apex, the middle lobe or apiculaus being recurved so that from some points of view the apex appears emarginate. The spur instead of being expanded abruptly into an almost spherical apical vesicle is more gradually inflated in the distal half and in this respect is much more like C ichneumonea. This later spedciews, however, has much broader leaves, larger flowers always borne single and the spur swelling more pronounced." Summerhayes 1958
