Common Name The Short Lip Chelonistele

Found in Kalimantan Borneo in dense elfin, mossy forests at elevations around 1800 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with very slender, more or less terete pseudobulbs carrying a single, obovate-lanceolate, acuminate, thinly coriaceous, 7 to 9 nerved, somewhat prominent on both surfaces leaves that blooms in the fall on a synanthous, [as the leaf just or half emerged], peduncle 2 to 4" [5 to 10 cm] long, increasing after the first flowers open to 7" [17.5 cm] long, rachis, curved or straight, very slightly zig-zag, 3.2 to 3.8" [ 8 to 9.5 cm] long, 9 to 10 flowered inflorescence.
