Common Name The Queen Maxima Chelonistele [Present queen of the Netherlands]

Flower Size

Found in Leiden gardens without locality as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with somewhat flattened, ovate to almost elliptic, smooth pseudbulbs carrying 2, apical, in youth cooked liver colored becoming mid green above, lighter below, stiffly coriaceous, lanceolate, acute, only the mid rib prominent, narrowing below into the channeled, semiterete, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer in cultivation on an heteranthous, erect, rachis slightly zig-zag, 1.88" [4.7 cm] long, 4.5" [11.4 cm] long overall, to 6 flowered inflorescence.
