Found in Peru, Bolivia and northwestern Argentina at elevations around 2000 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, completely leafy stem carrying erect-patent acute leaves that blooms in the early summer on a terminal, erect, rachis 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, laxly several to many flowered inflorescence
