Found in El Choco department of Colombia at elevations of 1000 to 1800 meters as a medium to just large sized, cool growing epiphyte with short stems enveloped completely by imbricating, distichous, purple dotted sheaths and carrying oblong-elliptic, aqcute, basally and beaneath dotted with purple leaves that blooms in the fall on a short, provided with 3 bracts, lateral to pendant, 3.2 to 4" [8 to 10 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
