Common Name The Folded Chondroscaphe [refers to the pleated midlobe of the lip]
Flower Size 2" [5 cm]
Found in Junin department of Peru in wet montane forests at elevations around 1700 to 1900 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with 3 to 4, stiff, lanceolate, acuminate, conduplicate below into the base leaves that blooms in the spring on a basal, lax, 2.8" [7 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
CAUTION I am not positive of which of the 2 photographed orchids is the real species so please use with caution! The Type Drawing is absolutely correct.
