Found only in Costa Rica in moist cloud forests at elevations of 950 to 1200 meters on shady tree trunks as a small to just medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a loose fan of basally conduplicate, oblanceolate, acuminate, distichous leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, .8 to 2.6" [2 to 6.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with elliptic, acute, infundibular peduncular bracts and elliptic, apiculate, infundibular floral bracts
