Found on the Island of Bonin near Tokyo, Japan as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with ovoid, obscurely 4 sided, tetragonal pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, glabrous, coriaceous, shortly petiolate, oblong-ligulate, obtuse leaf that blooms on a basal, thin, wiry, erect, 6 to 8" [15 to 20 cm] long, few flowered, umbellate inflorescence with an acuminate bract.
