Found only in Java at elevations around 750 to 1500 meters as a medium to large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with pendulous stems carrying many, thick, fleshy, narrowing to an oblique apex with a sharp tooth underneath leaves that blooms in the spring on a downward pointing, 1.6 to 2.4" [4 to 6 cm] long, racemose, 20 to 30 flowered inflorescence. This species is often given as a synonym of C javanicum but differs only in the flower which has the sidelobes of the lip and the apical lobe of the lip being simple and not forked.
