Found in southeastern Brazil on roadside banks and in scrub forests at elevations of 1000 to 1400 meters as a giant sized, cool growing terrestrial with an erect, leafy stem carrying 5 to 8 large, membraneous, lanceolate, acuminate, amplexicaul below into the base leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on 2 to 3, terminal and axillary, 1.6 to 2.4" [4 to 6 cm] long, successively single flowered inflorescence.
