Found in Malaysia in primary and secondary forests at elevations around 850 to 1100 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short stem carrying 2 rows, stiff, leathery, strap-shaped, rounded and bilobed apically, narrowing below into the clasping base leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on an axillary, descending, elongating, slender, purplish, paniculate, to 3 branched, to 16" [40 cm] long, successively several, many flowered inflorescence carrying sometimes sweetly fragrant flowers
