Found in southeastern Brazil on roadside banks amongst tall grasses at elevations of 1000 to 2000 meters as a large sized, cool growing terrestrial with an erect, slightly sinuous, thin stem carrying 4 to 7, erect-patent, membraneous, slightly fleshy, somewhat pallid, purplish, lanceolate, acuminate, basally claspng leaves that blooms in the summer and earlier fall on 5 to 6, terminal and axillary, 1.4 to 1.6" [3.5 to 4 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
