Found in Assam India, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Yunnan province of China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam in open forests on trees at elevations 600 to 2150 meters as an erect or pendulous, miniature to medium sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with a stout leaf stem carrying coriaceous, broadly lorate, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, ascending, slender, 12" [30 cm] long, paniculate, 8 to 14 branched, successively few, many flowered inflorescence with a few distant sheaths and broad, short floral bracts.
