Found in Sumatra at elevations of 1200 to 1700 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a thick, fleshy, slightly zig-zag and flattened stem carrying about 4, oblong but broader in the lower half, obtuse, green above purple beneath leaves that blooms in the fall on a pendent, simple, to 5" [12.5 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with 3 tubular bracts and lanceolate, acute floral bracts
