Found in Borneo, Java, Malaysia?, the Philippines and Sumatra on mangroves and lower montane forests at elevations of 600 to 1700 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with very short, somtimes branched stems carrying several, v-channeled when young, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the spring on a dark, terete, 1 to 2 branched, to 18" [45 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute floral bracts
