Common Name The Sharp Coelogyne [refers to column apex]

Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]

Found in penninsular Malaysia at unknown elevations as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte or occasional lithophyte on mossy rocks with a stout, creeping rhizome with 1" [2.5 cm] between each ellipsoid, grooved with age, dull red pseudobulbs enveloped by basal sheaths and carrying 2, short, coriaceous, leathery, plicate, 5 nerved, elliptic, subacute, often variegated green and white, gradually narrowing below into the red, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on a hysteranthous, with stiff, flat, imbricating bracts at the interface between peduncle and rachis, then fractiflex, 8 to 14" [20 to 35 cm] long, successively single to 4 flowered inflorescence with deciduous floral bracts and white flowers.
