Found in Borneo in lowland rainforests at elevations around 800 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to close set, flask-shaped, basally thicker pseudobulbs carrying 2, oblong-lanceolate, shortly triangular acuminate, acute, narrowing below into an elongate, cuneate, plicate, 7 nerved, grooved, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on a hysteranthous, bare, somewhat strong, compressed, zig-zag, 20" [50 cm] long, many flowered, 2 ranked inflorescence with deciduous, coriaceous floral bracts and carrying successively opening, fragrant flowers
