Found in southern India and Sri Lanka in montane forests on tree branches and on rocks in grasslands at elevations of 1800 to 2000 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing epiphtye or lithophyte with narrowly ovoid, reddish brown pseudobulbs carrying 1 to 2, plicate, narrowly lanceolate, acute, one prominent dorsal vein, narrowing below into the grooved, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a proteranthous, slender, arching, 4" [10 cm] long, loosely 4 to 8 flowered inflorescence with simultaneously opening flowers and has persistent floral bracts.
