Common Name The Flattened Stem Coelogyne [refers to the peduncle]

Flower Size 1.4" [3.5 cm]

Found in Sabah Borneo in low mossy and dry scrub in lower to upper montane forests at elevations of 800 to 2500 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with a thick woody rhizome with .6" [1.5 cm] between each fusiform to narrowly cylindric pseduobulb and carrying 2, apical, linear-oblong, gradually narrowing at both ends, acute, mucronate, plicate, shiny above, dull below, 5 nerved, narrowing below into the elongate petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a hysteranthous, to 8.2" [20.5 cm] long, strongly bi-laterally compressed, narrowly winged, rigid, shiny yellow rhachis strongly zig zag, many flowered inflorescence and carrying successively opening flowers
