Found in Sabah and Sarawak Borneo in lower and upper montane forests at elevations of 900 to 2400 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte and occasional lithophyte on sandstone with 1.1" [2.75 cm] between each ovoid, more or less quadrangular pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, plicate, 5 nerved, lanceolate, conduplicate apex, obtuse, rigid, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter and again in the summer on a proteranthous, to 2.8" [7 cm] long, naked, nodding, zigzag, lax, 6 to 10 flowered inflorescence with large, involute, persistent floral bracts and simultaneously opening, sweetly scented flowers
