Found in Kalimantan and Sarawak Borneo in primary hill forests on small trees at elevations around 800 to 900 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with a stout rhizome giving rise to close set, pyriform, neck thicker, elongated base pseudobulbs carrying 2, erect, plicate, 9 nerved, oblong-elliptic, acuminate-acute, gently narrowing below into the grooved, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on an initially synanthous, but becoming hysteranthous, elliptic in cross-section, 9.2 to 12.4" [23 to 31 cm] long, zig-zag, loosely many flowered inflorescence with deciduous floral bracts and successively opening flowers.
