Common Name The Kneeling Coelogyne [refers to the reflexed mid-lobe of the lip]
Flower Size .8" [2 cm]
Found in Sabah Borneo in dense to open mossy upper montane forests at elevations of 1200 to 2100 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a thick and woody rhizome with .2 to .8" [.5 to 2 cm] between each narrowly cylindric, sulcate, dull yellowish-green pseudobulb carrying 2 apical, oblong-elliptic, rounded, coriaceous, plicate, 3 to 5 nerved, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring and or fall on a synanthous, arising on half to fully developed pseudobulbs, to 7.2" [18 cm] long, more of less zig-zag, rather densely hairy, 14 to 36 flowered inflorescence with progressively opening, color variable [cream to green] flowers with persistent floral bracts.
