Common Name The Mt. Kinabalu Coelogyne [A Mountain in Sabah, Borneo]

Flower Size 3" [7.5 cm]

Found in Sabah Borneo on Mt Kinabalu, in lower montane, oak laurel forests at elevations of 900 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with very nearly cylindric, stem-like pseudobulbs enveloped basally by large sheaths and carrying 2 apical, narrowly elliptic, sharply acuminate, coriaceous, plicate, 5 to 9 nerved, narrowing below into the indistinct petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a hysteranthous, rigid, erect, 10" [25 cm] long, fractiflex, successsively to 36 flowered inflorescence with deciduous floral bracts.
