Found in Borneo on Mt Kinabalu in lower montane forsts at elevations around 1600 to 1700 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to close set, ovoid, shallowly grooved pseudobulbs carrying lanceolate, 3 to 5 main nerved, leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a heteranthous, peduncle sturdy, short, erect, 1" [2.5 cm] long, rachis suberect, zig-zag, .8 to 2.6" [2 to 6.5 cm] long, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence with ovate floral bracts.
