Common Name The White Coelogyne - In China Bai Hua Bei Mu Lan

Found in southwestern Sichuan and Yunnan provinces of China, Laos, Vietnam and northern Myanmar in forests in trees or along valleys on rocks at elevations of 1500 to 2600 meters as a cool to cold growing epiphyte or lithophyte with .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] between each ovoid-oblong pseudobulb enveloped by basal sheaths and carrying 2, narrowly oblong-lanceolate, acute-apiculate, coriaceous, 9 nerved leaves that blooms in the later spring and summer on a hysteranthous, straight, slender, slightly zig zag, 7.2 to 13" [18 to 32.5 cm] long, to 10 flowered inflorescence with imbricate bracts at the junction of peduncle and rachis and has deciduous floral bracts and carrying simultaneously opening flowers
